  • Understanding of biodiversity systems would be useful but is not essential.

The Project GIS officer will assist in the delivery of invasive species, community and biodiversity related programs to enable policy outcomes, while maintaining professional and timely support to internal and external stakeholders. They will also assist in data analysis and provide GIS support for the delivery of programs, in particular spatial data for monitoring, reporting and acquittal. The role will also support the implementation and review of procedures in pursuit of efficient and best practice processes for the branch.  

The successful candidate will understand government processes, have a working knowledge of ArcGIS, good written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and have a good attention to detail. Understanding of biodiversity systems would be useful but is not essential.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification or progress towards one, or equivalent experience, in spatial information management is mandatory.
  • Knowledge and experience with ESRI suite of products
  • Knowledge and experience with geodatabase development and management preferred

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2022.
