Grade 2 Physiotherapist - Acute Oncology

  • Permanent Full Time (with monthly ADO)

  • $83,361.20 - $95,825.60 p.a. (pro rata for part time/dependent on experience)

About the role

This exciting role will be primarily based at Box Hill Hospital, where this Grade 2 Physiotherapy role will primarily be responsible for the clinical management of the acute oncology.  On a daily basis, as the right person for this role, you will be expected to apply your commitment to the Eastern Health value of Patients First through your skilled Grade 2 management of this caseload; through your support of the Physiotherapy service across Box Hill Hospital to dynamically respond to workload demands across the site; through your support and development of Grade 1 Physiotherapists , AHA’s and under-graduate students to develop clinical skills within the area of acute oncology physiotherapy and specialty medicine.

About you

You will be a dynamic, enthusiastic team player within the multi-disciplinary team and Eastern Health Physiotherapy, actively seeking to collaborate with others to improve outcomes & experiences for your patients. You will active seek to support and partner with service improvement being undertaken by Grade 3 and Grade 4 Clinical Lead within Specialty Medicine & Aged and Complex Care Physiotherapy. This role will be robustly supported via a on-site Grade 3 Physiotherapist and more broadly by the support & improvement network lead by our Grade 4 Clinical Lead Physiotherapists. Clinical supervision is provided to this role by an on-site Grade 3 Physiotherapist and the role operates within a team of Physiotherapists that service the many clinical units across Box Hill Hospital so on-site peer support is available.

To be successful in this role you should possess


  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy

  • Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

  • Eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association

  • Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex caseload and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach

  • Broad clinical experience encompassing diverse patient presentation.

  • Previous clinical experience working in acute oncology physiotherapy.

  • High level communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work / show leadership in a multidisciplinary team. 


  • Participation in work practice coordination and review

  • Experience in conflict resolution

  • Working towards post graduate qualification would be highly regarded.

  • Member, Australian Physiotherapy Association with current involvement in relevant special interest groups
