Head of Allied Health Research

• Lead Allied Health Research at Royal Melbourne Hospital


• Joint appointment with La Trobe University - Academic and Research Collaborative in Health (ARCH), Director at the RMH site


• Full Time 3 year appointment, 80 hours per fortnight with ADO

The Royal Melbourne Allied Health Directorate consists of over 330EFT. The Allied Health research team is committed to working with all staff to ensure translation of clinical problems into research with the aim of improving patients’ clinical outcomes. The Head of Allied Health Research will work under the direction of the Chief Allied Health Officer and ARCH Executive Director to engage with stakeholders to encourage and promote a robust and innovative research culture and rapid translation of evidence into practice.

Your new role:

• Lead industry engagement and contribute to the research, clinical and academic partnership between La Trobe University and Royal Melbourne Hospital.


• Ensure excellence together with strong industry and consumer engagement.


• Provide research leadership to RMH clinicians and researchers, alongside academics and students at La Trobe University. 


• Facilitate an evidence-based approach to health care, with an emphasis on inter-professional practice and consumer-focused and industry co-produced research and translation.

About you:

• You hold a PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing, together with outstanding track record of clinical research experience in rehabilitation, mental health, aged care, chronic disease management, exercise, therapy outcomes and consumer engagement.


• You have experience in an evidence-based approach to health care, with an emphasis on inter-professional practice and consumer-focused and industry co-produced research and translation.


• You are a leader of high-quality staff and research higher degree students within a contemporary healthcare environment.


• You are an AHPRA registered (or relevant professional body) Allied Health clinician researcher.
