 Senior Clinician - HOPE Team


NorthWest Area Mental Health



  • Hospital Outreach Post Suicidal-Engagement (HOPE) Team

  • Full or Part Time considered, working a rotating roster (no overnight shifts )

  • Multidisciplinary team - Grade 3 Psych, OT and Social Work, Grade 4 RPN




Your new team:



The HOPE team is multidisciplinary including clinical and non clinical staff (psychosocial support and lived experience).  We provide brief enhanced support and assertive outreach to people leaving our emergency department and inpatient units following treatment for suicidal ideation and/or a suicide attempt. We provide a service to people who live in the Morleand and Hume LGA's for up to a 12 week period.



As a multidisciplinary team, applicants are encouraged from all of the following qualifications - Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers & Registered Psychiatric Nurses.



Your new role:



This is your opportunity to be part of the ongoing development and establishment of the team, to provide leadership and support to a diverse range of staff and to make a difference in the lives of those who are presenting with high levels of distress, suicidal ideation and complex psycho social issues.



  • Provide high level clinical expertise as it relates to suicidal ideation and suicidal drivers

  • Participate  in and contribute to clinical and quality activities

  • Provide supervision to staff and students and clinical leadership


About you:



  • Demonstrated experience in the application of discipline specific interventions in a variety of settings including acute mental health

  • High level skill in developing comprehensive formulations and supportive plans

  • an ability to provide family interventions including single session family therapy is highly desirable
