About the Role
Join the Study Melbourne Hub Kuala Lumpur as a Hub Coordinator, through the Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) International Network. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with our International Education function to contribute your skills to a unique student-centred experience in Kuala Lumpur.

The role will operate from the Study Melbourne Hub Kuala Lumpur, reporting to the Education Services Director in Malaysia, and will involve working with colleagues across Malaysia and Victoria. This position will require an understanding of event management and operations of the Hub and will undertake activities such as organising and coordinating bookings with Hub students, alumni and partners. This will also include facilitating events, management of logistics and suppliers, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Hub including finances, reporting, and liaison with the property manager. The role will assist with promoting Victoria as a preferred study destination and engaging students studying with Victorian universities and education providers, or may be considering study with Victoria, or are Victorian alumni.

  • Classification: Locally Engaged Staff (LES)
  • Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
  • Employment Type: Fixed Term – 12 months

Ideally, this will be underpinned by a sound understanding of the Australian education and training system and the cultural, economic, and political environment which impact education in Malaysia, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment.

Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:

  1. Highly developed student, partner and stakeholder engagement skills, including strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  2. Proven ability to develop and deliver a program of activities, organise events and associated scheduling for Hub space and venue bookings.
  3. Significant experience and knowledge of student interaction and support, and event management, particularly in Malaysia.
  4. An excellent understanding of marketing and communications, international education partnerships, and student recruitment.

The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all arrangements in relation to relocation expenses (if applicable), their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
