Clinical Assistant - Intensive Care Unit

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is an award-winning health care service and is Victoria’s second largest public health service. We provide comprehensive acute, sub-acute, general, specialist medical and mental health services through both inpatient and community based facilities through the following services: The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus, The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Royal Park Campus, North Western Mental Health, RMH Kidney Care Service and Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory. The Royal Melbourne Hospital is a world-class teaching hospital and one of Victoria’s largest Trauma Centres. ICU currently consists of 42 beds and provides care to over 3000 patients each year, including Cardiothoracic, Trauma, Neurosurgical, Oncology and Medical-surgical patients.  The unit also supports patients within the precinct  who may require Intensive Care Services including the Women’s and Peter McCullum Hospital as part of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Model of care.

Your new role:

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in our state of the art ICU, and assist with providing great patient care, including:

  • Patient transport around the hospital.
  • Cleaning.
  • Equipment management.
  • Restocking equipment and medical supplies.

About you:

  • You hold a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.
  • You demonstrate an enthusiastic and organised approach to work, both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • You have great communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate patient centred care.
  • You are available to work a rotating AM, PM and night shift roster.
