About the role:

An opportunity for two (2) xInjury Management Team Leaders to be part of our Health and Wellbeing Hub located in Docklands.

The Health and Wellbeing Hub is the single most significant investment in the health, safety, and wellbeing of Victoria Police employees to prevent and respond to work related injuries. Six multi-disciplinary teams are being established, based in hubs across the state, with a focus on enhancing employee's mental health, injury prevention, early intervention, and recovery and return to work support.

This newly created team offers an exciting opportunity to support Victoria Police employees. You will lead your team to deliver outstanding case management and robust return to work support on the ground in their portfolios.

The Injury Management Team Leader is a key leadership position in the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Hub providing day to day management and support to a team of Injury Management Consultants. The position will supervise and support a team in providing early and ongoing management to support ill and injured employees, whilst ensuring compliance with legislative requirements are met.

Reporting to the Hub Manager the Team Leader will work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders, including Hub leadership, injured employees, their treatment providers, our WorkSafe insurance agent, and regional managers and leadership, to support their team in achieving safe and sustainable remain at work or early return to work outcomes.

Your duties will include:

  • Lead a dynamic team of Injury Management Consultants driving impactful injury management solutions and facilitating seamless return to work service and performance.
  • Provide day to day support, advice, and supervision to your direct team, and the wider Health & Wellbeing Hub for all injury management and operational needs.
  • Develop an engaged team culture, ensuring you support your team in their professional development and continuous improvement planning.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery and improve stakeholder satisfaction, with wellbeing of ill/injured members at the forefront of your work.
  • Conduct regular case reviews to drive creative return to work and remain at work initiatives and to monitor and manage compliance with relevant legislation and governance with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Provide oversight and governance to your team for best practise injury management practise, policy, and procedure.
  • Deliver subject matter expertise on complex cases to ensure services are in line with best practice rehabilitation and early return to work.
  • Participate as part of the leadership team on program evaluation, reporting and meeting performance indicators.

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven high level experience in the management and delivery of an injury management service within a large, complex organisation.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, specifically experienced in development and coaching of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly developed communication skills and ability to negotiate complex and sensitive issues,
  • Demonstrated talent for influence and negotiation, inspiring managers and stakeholders to collaborate to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for their people.
  • Expertise in oversight and governance of a complex work type, ensuring compliance with legislation across your team.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Victorian workers' compensation scheme and experience in meeting employer obligations in accordance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Two (2) x full-time, ongoing positions available.
  • These positions are located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • This position requires regular travel, applicants must hold a current Driver's Licence.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
