Role

The International Student Administrative Assistant (Vietnamese Multicultural Education Aide) is responsible for carrying out the administrative tasks essential for the smooth functioning of the International Students department. This involves working closely with the International Students Coordinator and the Principal. 

Mill Park Secondary College has a large cohort of International Students from Vietnam, and this role also has a specific focus on supporting our Vietnamese students and families in the program, as a Multicultural Education Aide.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced administration staff, for this full-time position, who have a background in working in an educational setting, providing administrative assistance to International Students.

Applicants should have strong Vietnamese language skills, and an understanding of Vietnamese culture.

Having a valid drivers license is required as travel between two campuses of the College is necessary.

Experience in working in an environment that involves dealing with a wide variety of people in a personable involved manner; listening skills and the ability to direct people to their specific needs area is essential.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting all students enrolled in the college¿s International Students Program, in particular those from a Vietnamese background.

Translating and interpreting or organising the translation of documents, such as College correspondence, letters, reports and parent-teacher interviews.

Assisting students / parents with Homestay arrangements including any administration and issue management

Assisting with airport pickups during school holidays

Assisting the International Student Coordinator with planning, organising and running school-based international celebrations and events.

Database management, administration of compliance tasks, including checking students¿ attendance, visas, Working With Children Checks and any other relevant security checks.

Other duties as assigned by the International Student Coordinator or College Principal.
