About MRPV

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an IT Project Management Office Lead to join the IT team at MRPV. As the IT Project Management Office Lead, you will ensure the successful delivery of IT projects and programs through the provision of strategic and operational support. You will work closely the Business Analysts, Project Managers, and IT Services to review and coordinate the IT pipeline, plan for resource and budget requirements, and develop business cases. You will also establish delivery teams and forecast and maintain an optimum level of resources with appropriate skillsets for accepted projects etc. An important part of this role will also be to develop and review the IT project management artefacts to ensure that the overall delivery approach is clearly described, appropriate and in accordance with MRPV standards.  

This is a fixed term position for 12 months.

About you

You will have strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with key internal and external stakeholders, building and maintaining effective relationships. You will also demonstrate high-level knowledge of PRINCE2, Agile, and project/program management delivery methodologies, coupled with experience in the management of IT PMO functions including tracing the status of IT project and program deliverables and managing best practice processes and tools for project budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, risk management and governance requirements.  

You will hold a relevant qualification with significant experience in a related field, coupled with relevant certification (PMP, Prince2 or PMBOK).
