About the Business Unit:

The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the Northwest Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety.

About the Role:

The position of an Offender Services Officer is situated within the Offender Services Unit at the Melbourne Assessment Prison.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Delivering a range of programs including Prisoner Orientation
  • Acting as a key point of contact for prisoners and unit staff in relation to prisoner welfare and program matters
  • Providing advice and support to custodial staff in relation to the management of prisoners including their involvement and referral to prison programs

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Experience in or an understanding of working within a correctional environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • The ability to seek resolution of problems through policy or process guidelines while otherwise seeking guidance by providing information and ideas relevant towards resolution of problem.
