About us

The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the North West Metropolitan Area of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. MAP consists of the prison, the custody facilities at the County, Supreme and Appeal Courts and holding cells at St Vincent's Hospital for prisoners requiring outpatient medical treatment.

The Workforce Development Team is committed to the training and development of employees to improve productivity and efficiency, to build operational capability, achieve corporate objectives, improve service delivery to customers and stakeholders and provide career opportunities.

About the role

The Justice Officer, Training Support will assist with the coordination of learning and development services and administration of staff performance and planning and assessment.  In this role you will:

  • coordinate training logistics such as catering, room bookings and venue set up
  • undertake administrative tasks and provide support and assistance in a range of other workforce development functions at the Melbourne Assessment Prison and Courts
  • contribute to the management of all mandatory qualifications, including tactical options matrix and coordinate administration, enrolments, record keeping and qualifications with the DJCS Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • a strong organisation and planning skill set
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, together with strong attention to detail
  • demonstrated proficiency in computer literacy.
