If you fit this profile, then you could join the recently established Strategic Planning, Policy and Intelligence team at the Victorian Institute of Teaching with an exciting and challenging mandate for change. The Knowledge Management and Policy Officer role offers an outstanding career opportunity for a creative and motivated professional who is passionate about using their expertise to support VIT to be a responsive and capable regulator.

With an opportunity to take a leading role in delivering training to VIT staff across all business units, designing change management practices and developing policy, this dynamic and diverse position will be instrumental in strengthening the ongoing operations of VIT.

About you

As someone with extensive experience in knowledge management, you will have a sound and practical understanding of current knowledge management tools and best practice.

You will be organised, resilient and flexible with a proven track record of driving change and delivering training to a diverse group of people with differing experience and skillsets. You will also be capable of offering high level and accurate advice on policy matters to senior and executive levels of management. In addition to this, as the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High-level interpersonal skills with an ability to easily collaborate with colleagues

  • Experience preparing frameworks and processes to support an effective policy environment

    About the role

    Salary range: $85,548 – $97,063 plus statutory super

    Be part of a forward-thinking, risk based regulator where ideas and opinions are valued. This role will require you to:

    • Establish relationships with stakeholders to drive engagement and business support for change in alignment with VIT's operational needs.
    • Lead the creation and maintenance of education and support materials for VIT staff with an emphasis on particular business areas and needs as required.
    • Manage the governance and version control of end user content to ensure that agreed knowledge repositories hold the most recent and relevant versions.
    • Deliver technical training to staff through approved eLearning modules, educational and informational videos, demonstrations, support packs, checklists and training materials.
    • Collaborate with People and Culture to educate VIT staff and Executive on learning and knowledge management tools and applications used to build and maintain learning content.
    • Develop and manage quality assurance, learner satisfaction surveys, and useability surveys for content suitability.
    • Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of VIT frameworks and policies. 
    • Provide strategic advice about legislative requirements and regulatory policy to the Strategic Planning, Policy and Intelligence Manager, CEO, Executive Team and Council.
    • Use data to inform and implement policy outcomes.
    • Maintain an understanding of contemporary risk-based and outcomes-focused regulatory practice, and be knowledgeable about key state and national priorities in education.
    • Maintain the Policy Register to ensure that all Policies are recoded and updated in line with review dates.
