About the Business Area

Road User and Vehicle Access (RUVA) deliver evidence based behavioural and vehicle road safety measures; work with communities to encourage safer road user behaviours; support uptake of active transport; and regulate effectively without unnecessary burden.

Sitting within RUVA, the Community Programs team is responsible for working across Victoria with local communities to deliver local road safety programs that have a measurable impact on the Towards Zero targets to achieve zero fatalities and serious injuries on our roads.

The TAC L2P Program is funded by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and managed by the Department of Transport (DoT, formerly VicRoads), supported by the Victorian Government.

The TAC L2P program is a state-wide program that matches young learner drivers with a supervising driver mentor. The purpose of the program is to enable the learner driver to meet the Graduated Licensing System (GLS) mandated 120 hours of driving practice prior to gaining their probationary licence. 

About the Role

The focus of this role is to support the Senior Partnerships Officer and other neighbouring Partnerships Officers in the development and maintenance of partnerships with local community groups, businesses, volunteers and other suitable organisations to support and promote the L2P Program.

In this role, you will localise business partnerships and volunteer support functions within your specified region. You will work closely with the Partnerships team to broaden the L2P Program's profile within local communities.

Based in Sunshine, this role is offered at 3 days a week.

About You

We are looking for someone with the following skills and attributes:

  • Effective at building strong relationships, with focus on developing community networks and relationships with local businesses
  • Ability to coordinate local business partnership activities and marketing requirements
  • Experience working with community programs is desirable
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications (project management, business, arts/humanities, public policy, public health)

This role requires a valid and current driver's licence. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required in this role. State-wide, overnight travel will also be required on occasion.
