The Position 


Position Title: Lactation Consultant 
Classification: YU11
Salary per hour (exc. super): $48.79
Hours per fortnight: 24 hours - weekend work 6 hour shifts - available for multiple applicants.
Employment Status: Fixed Term - Part Time



About the Role

The Lactation Consultant will work within the Women’s Ward/ Birthing suite area providing care and education for families during the immediate postnatal period until discharge.



While the Lactation Consultant will focus specifically on the breastfeeding experience for the family, the lactation consultant will be responsible for providing Breast feeding education, guidance and support to staff working within the Women’s Ward/Birthing suite.

The Team


The Clinical Operations Division encompasses acute and mental health services.  We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and speciality services including; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics and Mental Health Services.


Within a state-of-the-art hospital, the team provides high-quality services using the latest technologies.  Our eleven operating theatres (including two endoscopy rooms), critical care, emergency and women’s wards all have access to critical services lifts that link to the helipad allowing rapid transfer of patients both in and out of the health service.
