VicHealth is the world's first health promotion foundation that supports independent, long-term, evidence-based health promotion practice, partnerships and leadership. We continue to be a global leader in health promotion, as a Collaborating Centre with the World Health Organization and technical partner to UNICEF.
VicHealth welcomes and values applications from candidates who are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, candidates with culturally diverse backgrounds, candidates with disability and those from the LGBTQIA+ community. We are committed to making reasonable adjustments to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
The three core systems are neighbourhood and built systems, commercial and economic systems and food systems. Our work in these systems is in the context of our communities increasing health inequity, and VicHealth's approach reflects three dimensions: climate justice, community agency, and intergenerational wellbeing.
One of these core systems is the neighbourhood and built system, and VicHealth is now seeking a passionate and experienced Lead, Neighbourhood and Built Systems (NBS) to join our dynamic team and play a key role in promoting health equity and well-being in Victorian communities.
About the role
Your role will include collaborating within a team environment in the design, implementation and evaluation of initiatives that enable increased physical activity, improve social connections and support improvements to emotional, physical, and mental health. You will lead projects to help address systemic factors such as discrimination and racism in the environments where Victorians live, work and play, for example in sport and arts. This work would help drive healthy neighbourhoods and community places and spaces that support health. You will be able to demonstrate overseeing and supervising a project team - including providing guidance, managing a high project budget and working cross-organisationally to meet project goals.
You'll thrive in this integral opportunity by fully using your organisational, prioritisation, partnership development and time management skills in a busy and rewarding environment.
If you have exceptional communication and relationship management skills, and love working within a team environment to improve the lives of Victorians, then we would love to hear from you!
