This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join the Lifestyle Team, working as a Lifestyle Assistant on a permanent part time basis. In this position, you will support the Lifestyle team and work in a team that provides individual, group and community activities for residents and participants.

Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant

Permanent Part Time – 70 hours per fortnight

Classification: Dependant on qualifications

Award: Victorian Public Health Sector (Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2024

This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join the Lifestyle Team, working as a Lifestyle Assistant on a permanent part time basis. In this position, you will support the Lifestyle team and work in a team that provides individual, group and community activities for residents and participants.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications / Experience

  • Certificate IV or higher in Leisure & Health or Diversional Therapy (Desirable), Minimum Cert III in Aged Care (PCA) and willing to undertake studies in Leisure and Health or equivalent
  • Annual Basic Life Support Certificate.
  • Experience in Residential Aged Care is desirable.

Specialist Expertise

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, carers, staff and others.
  • Ability to demonstrate a person-centred approach to their work with residents
  • Demonstrate an ability to work within a Multidisciplinary team, and provide flexibility when working with residents with a variety of physical, behavioural and cognitive needs
  • Knowledge of the Montessori philosophy or equivalent resident-centred care program and how this changes the provision of care to residents.
  • Ability to utilise computer software, particularly use of the Microsoft Office© suite.
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop and review Resident Care Plans.
  • Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.
