Summary of the role:We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Lifestyle Assistant to support our residents maintain active and independent lives through the development and implementation of activity plans based on their interest, abilities, religious and cultural needs, and life experience.

  • Casual position available
  • Make a difference in aged care by coordinating a meaningful lifestyle program that overcomes boredom, inactivity, isolation and depression with our residents.
  • Work in a multicultural diverse home at embraces all cultures and culturally celebrations
  • Create, facilitate and evaluate individual and group lifestyle programs to ensure that our residents have the best day possible each and every day.
  • Work in consultation with the wider care team to provide relevant and timely information for the care planning process 
  • You will be supported and guided by the Lifestyle Coordinator. 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Completed or currently enrolled in Certificate IV in Lifestyle & Leisure (Diversional Therapy), or similar
  • A minimum of 12 months experience in a lifestyle or personal care role in an aged care environment
  • First Aid Level II certificate
  • Highly motivated and engaging personality with a desire to teach and make a difference within the home
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills and an excellent relationship-builder
  • Previous experience delivering recreational activities and the ability to work within a team

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
  • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
