THE ROLE
The position will be responsible for leading a new team to prepare for implementation and delivery of Victorian Government Redress for people who experienced abuse and neglect in historic institutional settings prior to 1990 (Victorian Redress).
Working in close collaboration with the other Victorian Redress teams, the Strategy, Reporting, Policy and Infrastructure team will provide critical policy analysis, advice, briefings and reports, and undertake research to further inform the design, implementation and delivery of the Victorian Redress model endorsed by Government.
The role will require a strategic thinker with strong innovation and problem-solving skills to creatively address complex policy and project management issues to ensure the Scheme is ready for commencement in December 2024.
It will also involve leading sensitive work with key stakeholders including people who experienced abuse and neglect in historic institutional settings. As such, it will require the ability to build, communicate with, and maintain sensitive relationships with key stakeholders.
A key component of this role is leading a team of staff and supporting their well-being with consideration to vicarious trauma given the nature of the work.
Please note: this position requires dealing with sensitive material that can be emotionally challenging; this role will best suit a candidate who has current experience dealing with sensitive and distressing material and is both resilient and empathetic.
