Position Summary:

The Manager Aboriginal Engagement (the manager) has strategic and practice leadership responsibility within the North Division of the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS). Adopting an area-based approach, the manager is charged with coordinating policy and area work across the Division. Together with the area Senior Advisors for Aboriginal Engagement and the Divisional executives, the manager will assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Aboriginal) communities across the North Division to work towards the achievement of identified outcomes.

The position will require a strong contemporary knowledge of Aboriginal culture and aspirations, as well as highly developed leadership, negotiation and relationship building skills. It will also require a strong understanding of public policy and the political environment in relation to Aboriginal communities.
