Can you tell me more about what you do at VLSB+C?

Great question! We're really proud of the work we do. We are the regulator of the Victorian legal profession. We license lawyers and oversee service standards and conduct. This includes handling complaints about lawyers, investigating poor conduct and overseeing management of trust accounts. We are also the stewards of the public purpose and fidelity funds and administer these to support legal regulation and access to justice in Victoria.

Okay, and what role are you recruiting for?

We're looking for a Manager, Early Detection & Prevention to join our Early Detection & Prevention team. You will ensure high quality compliance monitoring and auditing of Trust Accounts, other Uniform Law compliance audits and CPD oversight outcomes are delivered against our organisational strategy – A Clear Direction by the team and in partnership with our external partners.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Substantial service leadership and expertise in compliance and monitoring service delivery, including risk based intelligence led service delivery.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement creative, innovative and future focused approaches to improve long term outcomes in support of Organisational strategy;
  • Excellent ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a complex environment.
  • A relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience, preferably in a regulatory setting.
