Bushfire Recovery Victoria (BRV) is a new permanent Victorian Government agency with a mandate to work directly with communities to support their recovery after bushfire disaster.

BRV takes a community-led approach to recovery, coordinating rebuilding and recovery and partnering with communities, governments, businesses and not-for-profit organisations to ensure recovery programs and services meet the needs of bushfire-affected communities, individuals and regions.

BRV is seeking applications from suitably qualified applicants for the opportunity of Manager, Recovery Funding Strategy.  Reporting to the Director, Recovery Panning and Coordination, this role is responsible for working across Bushfire Recovery Victoria (BRV) to maintain BRV's Funding Strategy and lead the development and coordination of funding submissions to support recovery activities. The Manager will be supported to undertake these funding submissions by a team of staff across BRV, identifying and utilising the best match of staff skills to the funding submission parameters and goals to ensure success.  The successful candidate will also coordinate input from recovery partners across the Victorian public service, work with the budget coordination unit in DJCS and lead engagement with central agencies throughout the budget process.  

The Manager will bring key capabilities to the development of funding submissions, including forming and managing submission teams, navigating new and different authorising environments, brokering agreement across areas, communicating effectively to senior executives and delivery partners and quickly comprehending new and complex material.

The Manager will lead a small team, and provide managerial oversight, people management, capability development and wellbeing support for staff.

You will be an innovative and strategic thinker, with experience in tackling complex business cases/funding submissions.

You will have senior level experience in the public sector, leading funding strategies and business case development in a complex and dynamic operating environment and have a demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with other members of the team, key stakeholders and community.
