About the Role and Team:

As the Manager Stakeholder Engagement, you will sit within Parks Victoria's Visitor Experience Division and play a critical role in the development and coordination of good-practice stakeholder engagement, and the building of social license across the many communities and stakeholders who are impacted by our park operations and decision-making.  You will provide leadership and expert advice to project teams, engagement practitioners (both corporate and regionally), and a range of other senior internal stakeholders, mitigating stakeholder risk and ensuring Ministerial obligations and community expectations are met.

This role is also "hands-on"; delivering engagement to support teams to facilitate discussion and engage meaningfully and effectively across a range of projects, during times where resources may be constrained. It is also a regular contact point for ongoing key stakeholder bodies and relationships.

This role manages a small team of engagement staff, provides hands-on support to projects and internal teams, and provides strategic engagement advice to project and regional staff.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Engagement and/or communications experience and ability to provide strategic and technical advice and support to a range of internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Extensive experience working in diverse and complex teams with competing priorities
  • Proven ability to work with challenging and complex stakeholders
  • Proven experience in outrage management
  • Ability to travel around Victoria and work occasionally outside of usual business hours
