Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice & Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).

Maritime Support Officer

• Provide general support and specific maritime sector knowledge across policy and processes
• Challenging and engaging role
• VPSG 3, Ongoing role

Reporting to the Manager Marine and Road Rescue and working within a small team, you will provide support to the production of written Maritime sector products which inform and support tactical, operational and strategic decision making.

Key accountabilities include:

• Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with key stakeholders;
• Provide administrative support to ensure the operational functions of the Marine Search and Rescue Team and State Control Centre are in accordance with requirements and are delivered in an efficient and effective manner;
• Arrange, prepare and assist in the delivery of briefings, reports, meetings and presentations including visual and electronic displays to a wide range of stakeholders

To be successful you will have:

• Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria's emergency management arrangements is desirable;
• Practical maritime experience from either an administrative or front-line perspective is preferred;
• Strong administration skills.
