Women’s Program at Monash Health

Monash Women’s maternity service is part of Monash Health, and provides health care across south eastern Melbourne and into west Gippsland.  We are the largest maternity provider in Victoria, providing care to over 10,000 women each year across three hospitals: Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong and Casey.

We’ve recently received new Department of Health funding, enabling us to appoint several motivated nursing professionals to ensure that our Women’s Program is appropriately resourced through our part-time Pool, Bank and Agency team members. The roles will support our Program’s operations seven days a week, with shifts from 6:00am to 2:30pm or from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, working to a maximum of 40 hours a week.

The roles will be appointed on a fixed term basis for six months.

About the role

In these important roles, you’ll provide a key point of contact for midwives and nurses who may be interested in working with Monash Women’s. You’ll be closely involved in recruiting into short term and medium term positions for Grade 2 Midwives, Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses and in allocating their shifts within the Women’s Program.

Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, you’ll build an intimate knowledge of our workforce needs through attending meetings and establishing and building relationships across Monash Women’s.  You’ll work collaboratively to ensure our database remains current and to coordinate the movement of our available team members to cover unplanned absences across the Service.

About you/what you need

You’re a Registered Nurse or Midwife with current AHPRA registration. The key attributes we’re looking for you to demonstrate include:

  • great interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills;

  • working knowledge of Shift Match or similar rostering systems;

  • experience in the Australian health sector, including knowledge of legislative and human resources policies and procedures as they relate to nursing and midwifery;

  • flexible, adaptable style enabling you to effectively navigate a dynamic environment where priorities can and do shift frequently; and

  • impeccable attention to detail

In return we offer:

  • a friendly work environment

  • a genuine opportunity to make a difference to the health of Victorian women

  • unique opportunities for education and support

  • salary packaging options that increase your take home pay

Monash Health recognises the value of equal employment opportunity and is committed to patient safety and promoting fairness, equity and diversity in the workplace. At Monash Health we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence and work to our six guiding principles.
