About our Transition Care Ward (South 1), Kingston Centre

Monash Health is an impressive organisation of seven public hospitals, 21 community health sites, five aged care facilities, university affiliated international research and tertiary education. We provide healthcare for the entire lifespan from pre-birth to palliative care and all stages in between of clinical care.

South 1 at Kingston Centre, Cheltenham is a 20 bed transition care ward. We work within an interdisciplinary model of care with an approach that is goal orientated and individualised for our patients to achieve maximum potential in function and independence.

About The Role

This opportunity is for a Nurse Manager (NM), responsible for providing clinical leadership to the ward, ensuring the delivery of safe, exceptional patient centred care in line with our organisational vision of our “relentless pursuit of excellence”

Reporting to the Operations Manager (Patient Flow), the NM leads by example, inspiring the team to perform at their best whilst building collaborative relationships with the department’s medical services and key stakeholders across the organisation.

For success in this role, you will require a strong financial acumen, ensuring bed utilisation along with efficient labour and resource management. This role also carries responsibility of recruitment and performance management, supporting your team with ongoing professional development collaboratively with our educators.

This role is to be appointed on a Full-time, Ongoing basis.

About You

As an accomplished Nurse, you possess a genuine passion and interest in care of the older person. You are a high achiever with proven success within the operational expectations of a ward and the multitasking required to reach successful outcomes of our patients and wider department.

You also have:

  • Demonstrated management & clinical leadership experience, ideally in a similar acute/sub-acute environment

  • Highly developed problem solving & decision making skills

  • Intermediate computer skills

  • Relevant working rights to Australia

  • Current Employee Working with Children Check
