About the Role

Exciting Career Growth Opportunity in Palliative Care in Picturesque North East Victoria, Centered at Albury Wodonga Health

Our collaborative and supportive team requires a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to provide inpatient and community support. We are the East Hume Regional Consultancy Palliative Care Service (EHRCPCS) and provide support to the LGA's of Alpine, Benalla, Indigo, Mansfield, Towong, Wangaratta and Wodonga and parts of Strathbogie. 

The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner will work as part of the consultancy team which is inclusive of Palliative Care Physicians, Palliative Care Registrars and a Nurse Practitioner Candidate. The EHRCPCS provides direct consultation services in both the community and inpatient setting across the catchment areas. The successful applicant will become an active member of a highly supportive team, as well as having the skills and ability to work autonomously throughout the region. The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner has the capacity to use their full skill set in providing quality palliative care treatment and advice while also providing opportunities for clinical system development, research, education and quality improvement.

Primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provision of direct consultancy advice and support for palliative care patients in conjunction with local specialist palliative care services, GP’s and other health care providers throughout the catchment areas
  • Provide services on a shared rotational basis to provide service equity and diversity and practice opportunities across the community and inpatient setting
  • Leadership within the team and involvement in the development and delivery of palliative care education and training opportunities throughout the region
  • Identification and Involvement in Palliative Care quality improvement actives and research opportunities at a local, regional and state level
