About the facility


Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) provides integrated and recovery orientated mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and / or drug and alcohol issues, and their families.


About the role


This is an exciting new role within MHDAS. You will provide vision, leadership and financial accountability to the nine-bed Mental Health Hospital in the Home service. The role includes developing and embedding the model of care, oversight of clinical workflow, establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, operational management and data reporting / analysis.


We are looking for a strategic, collaborative nurse unit manager who has experience in acute mental health service delivery, a passion for leadership, and who values high quality, innovative, evidence based and recovery orientated practice. The position will work closely with the MHDAS leadership team to understand current service provision and build further service capacity for acute mental health treatment.


To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills:



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A strong understanding of your own personal and professional values, and the skills to develop a values-based team culture

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams in acute community and / or inpatient settings

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and sustain system change
