This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist Grade 2 to join the team in Community Services at MDHS, working in a fixed-term position as part of a maternity leave back-fill. In this role you will be responsible for providing a range of Occupational Therapy services, including community, acute, Transitional Care Program (TCP), residential aged care and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across the MDHS catchment area.

Occupational Therapist – Grade 2

Part Time – 48 hours per fortnight

Fixed Term - to commence 22nd August 2022 until 18th August 2023

Award: Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2021

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Relevant tertiary qualification to work as an Occupational Therapist.
  2. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  3. Eligibility to be registered as an Occupational Therapist under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  4. Eligibility to be a member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists

Specialist Expertise

  1. Knowledge and ability to conduct independent Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions in all aspects of activities of daily living, personal, instrumental and community access to achieve optimal client outcomes.
  2. Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.
  3. Understanding and experience of working and communicating with community members who are frail, aged and disabled.
  4. Demonstrated experience in working within a multi-disciplinary environment, as well as working independently.
  5. Knowledge of and commitment to working collaboratively and in partnership, using the HACC Active Service Model and Goal Directed Care planning.
  6. Commitment and practice that reflects client-centred and evidence-based practice.

Personal Qualities

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication, including computer skills.
