About the facility 


The PARC program is part of the Community Rehabilitation Facility that supports people with a lived experience of mental ill-health to grow in their understanding of their experiences, establish current strengths and develop new skills to manage their health and wellbeing.


The PARC program in undergoing a rare opportunity for growth, and will see an increase in the multidisciplinary presence in the program. PARC is a dynamic program, and hold constant service improvement for the betterment of our community in high regard.


PARC is a subacute mental health program supporting people aged 16-64 years through residential, day program and outreach packages of care.


About the role 


The position will form part of a therapeutic team delivering group, family and individual interventions to the client group; including working with the community case manager/primary nurses/multidisciplinary team and relevant community services. The Occupational Therapist will have a specific focus on people with complex needs and will work with people  to understand the roles and activities they value and that are important for everyday life, to build their skill and capacity to participate in and perform those occupations, to develop skill in emotional regulation and non-pharmacological management of mental illness symptomatology such as hearing voices, improve communication skills and establish connections within the individual’s community. The Occupational Therapist will operate within a multidisciplinary framework contributing to assessment and treatment planning within the service
