About the role


This position sits within a close knit OT department with strong links to a highly supportive multidisciplinary team. Clinical responsibilities will sit within the acute service at the Angliss Hospital; including ED, ICU, general medicine, acute care of the older person and general surgical services.  This Gd 3 role will have OT team leader responsibilities, will be involved in developing other OTs & will have opportunities to lead quality improvement projects.


This position will suit an Occupational Therapist with a drive for achieving best outcomes for patients and a passion for representing the role of occupational therapy in the acute service.  The successful applicant will be supported within a strong supervision structure and will be encouraged to engage in professional development. There will also be opportunities for quality and research skill development in-house, from our Organisational Development, Quality Planning and Innovation teams and Allied Health Clinical Research Unit.


About you 


To be successful in this role you should possess:



  • AHPRA Registration

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in acute occupational therapy

  • Demonstrated skills in managing complex discharge planning

  • Experience in supervision of staff and students

  • Demonstrated capacity to show leadership in a multidisciplinary team

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • A strong commitment to high quality care

  • Strong commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork

  • Commitment to own continual professional development
