The Role:

Paediactric Surgeons are encouarged to apply for this appealing role at Northern Health in either a permanent position or a fixed term position.

 

The Paediatric Surgeon will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members including allied health clinicians, nursing and medical staff to deliver high quality paediatric services as well as driving related research and innovation. The roles are based at various Northern Health campuses and may include a combination of ward, theatre,emergency shifts and assist with specialist clinics. 

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential – MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent
  • Fellowship of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Surgeon, Paediatric Surgery (FRACS Paeds) Or pathway to FRACS if oversees Fellowship
  • Current National Police and Working with Children History Check.
  • The Staff Immunisation Questionnaire must be completed by all new employees as part of the mandatory on-boarding process.  New employees are not permitted to undertake any activity that requires patient contact prior to clearance by the Staff Immunisation Nurses; this also includes evidence of having the Flu vaccination on a yearly basis and being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.  New employees with contra-indications to vaccinations or who decline vaccination are required to attend a face to face consultation with the Immunisation Nurses for appropriate documentation of their contraindications or declination. This must be completed PRIOR to commencing any work with Northern Health.
