    About the role

Are you an educator who loves being in classrooms but who yearns for more variety and the chance to develop new knowledge and skills? Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment working with a collaborative and enthusiastic team of education and engagement professionals?

This role will include conducting school outreach incursions (either in person or remotely via digital technologies) for the Passport to Democracy program and completing administrative duties related to the program. Administrative responsibilities will involve the coordination of PTD education sessions, events, resources and other projects, and will include collecting and recording program evaluation data. The outreach sessions will involve the provision of hands-on civic education activities (where possible), using the Passport to Democracy program featuring our popular mock election activities, and will aim to build the capacity of young Victorians to participate in their democracy.

Reporting to the Education and Youth Engagement Specialist, the PTD Outreach Officer will work as part of the Young People Engagement Team to ensure the PTD program is delivered successfully.

The successful candidate will be a flexible and engaging educator who can deliver interactive activities and presentations (online and face to face) to audiences of varying size, age and needs, including young people from primary school and secondary school and at tertiary level. Significantly, they will also possess strong administrative, communication and office support skills. They will be able to successfully prioritise and complete tasks including monitoring of online requests, email and diary management, word processing and drafting documents, updating databases and other coordination and records management tasks.
