We are seeking a full time (12 months fixed-term) Patient Transport Officer to operate from Shepparton Branch. 

About the role

Working from Monday to Friday between 8am – 8pm on 8 hour shifts, Patient Transport Officers (PTO) provide effective and efficient care and transport of non-emergency pre and post hospital patients. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Respond to all cases in a timely manner
  • Provide appropriate patient assessment, care, and transport, in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Complete Patient Care Records and other relevant documentation in an accurate manner
  • Provide effective patient handover to hospital staff/patient relatives 

About you

To be considered for this position you will have: 

  • Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or equivalent including (Qualified Ambulance Paramedic, Diploma of Emergency Health Care, Bachelor of Health Science, Paramedicine Degree)
  • Current Victorian driver license
  • Minimum 100 hours of on-road clinical experience completed within a two-year period
  • Demonstrated understanding of Scope of Practice/Clinical Practice Guidelines for the role you are applying for

Important information

The successful applicant is required to:

  • Drive and operate any of AV's operational fleet
  • Attend a 4-week induction program during business hours in metropolitan Melbourne
  • Live 45-60 minutes from the advertised work location (to manage fatigue)

Candidates may be required to undergo:

  • Pre-employment screening including references, misconduct and Police Checks
  • Assessment of any secondary employment or outside interests 

The salary for this role is in alignment with the Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2020 classifications, including super.
