This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join the People & Culture team, working on a permanent contract as a payroll officer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing remuneration & benefits administrative support and co-ordination at MDHS. The position requires demonstrated initiative, working to tight deadlines capability and a high level of organisational skills.

Payroll Officer

Permanent Part Time – 48 hours per fortnight

Classification: Administration Officer Grade 1 (HS1) or Grade 2 (HS2) - dependent on qualifications & experience

Award: Victorian Public Health Sector (Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2016 – 2020

  • Previous experience working in Human Resources is highly advantageous
  • Strong administration skills and customer service ethic
  • High level competence in computer software, including Microsoft Office and Data Management Systems

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Strong demonstrated general administrative skills with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) understanding.
  2. Previous exposure working within a Human Resources information sensitive environment requiring the need to adhere to confidentiality and Privacy Act standards.
  3. Previous experience working within a Human Resources and Remuneration & Benefits (Payroll) environment would be highly advantageous.

Specialist Expertise

  1. To be familiar with the Health Service's environment.
  2. Demonstrated detail orientation.
  3. Demonstrated customer service ethic & exceptional communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated computer literacy across a range of software packages including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & database applications with Advanced Excel skills.

Personal Qualities

  1. To present a cheerful, pleasant and caring attitude to all customers of our Services.
  2. To be flexible and responsive to changing work requirements.
