Coliban Water currently has an exciting opportunity for a People and Safety Advisor with experience in a generalist human resources role and in operating a medium-sized payroll.

About the Role

Coliban Water currently has an exciting opportunity for a People and Safety Advisor with experience in a generalist human resources role and in operating a medium-sized payroll. Reporting to the General Manager People & Safety you will be responsible for providing operational advice and support to managers and staff on all matters human resource with a focus on industrial relations, payroll, employment matters, HR policy and procedures, and reporting.

The successful candidate will have exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to provide timely and effective customer service to internal and external stakeholders as one of the key primary contacts within the People & Safety team.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Generation of documents, forms and reports including: employment contracts, position descriptions, monthly reports, and maintenance of the employee files with respect to HR documentation and as required completion of external surveys and reports.
  • Provide back-up support to the payroll function as required, including processing the organisations fortnightly payroll, conducting month end processes and supporting Payroll during peak periods such as financial year end.
  • Provide support in the negotiation of Coliban Water's Enterprise Agreement with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation.
  • Assist the People & Safety team in relation to disciplinary, performance and grievance matters, and assist with policy and procedure reviews to ensure all industrial relations, legislative and organisational requirements are met.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Bachelor's Degree in Business together with several years' industry experience in HR and payroll or equivalent workplace experience.
  • Strong numeracy skills, excellent attention to detail and a high level of computer literacy within a payroll environment.
  • Experience working with Technology-One payroll software is desired but not essential.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and confidence in communicating and presenting in a number of settings.

 Salary

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2017 Band 3, $68,549 - $75, 891 Salary will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
