About the Role

This is a Fixed Term Position until May 2025

In this role you will be responsible for the analysis and translation of people, employment, biographical and organisational workforce data. One of your key functions will be to collect analyse and translate data in response to requests from across the portfolio.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

  • The People Reporting & Analytics Officer collates, reviews, and analyses people and safety data collected from various sources across the department and DTP portfolio i.e., people data, diversity information, and various surveys.
  • You will analyse and translate data into a format that can be understood and interpreted with the purpose of communicating to a broad audience.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to assist with evidence-based decision making for key projects, strategies, and initiatives.
  • Apply structured approaches, showcasing responsiveness and innovation in delivering data-centric solutions, interactive dashboards and more.
  • In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities.

Key Selection Criteria

In this pivotal role, you will contribute to innovative reporting solutions, tackle complex problems with critical thinking, and deliver high-quality outcomes under time constraints.

You will analyse and interpret data to provide meaningful insights, demonstrating a foundational understanding of data concepts like correlation, averages, and ratios. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will ensure clients’ needs are met promptly and effectively, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.

To excel, you will bring a commitment to continuous improvement, leveraging your ability to meet quality standards and improve processes. Your critical thinking skills will help you navigate challenges using existing guidelines or collaborating to develop solutions when none exist.

Qualifications and Experience

Desirable

  •  Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as business, human resources or similar.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Intermediate to Advanced Excel
  • Experience with SAP Success Factors Reporting modules.
  • Experience with Power Bi
