Perioperative Registered Nurse

• Experienced Registered Nurse to join Perioperative Services at the Royal Melbourne Hospital 


• Full time, Part time, Fixed term and ongoing hours available

Perioperative Services incorporate 4 main locations, Main Theatre, CSSD, 3 East/23 hour and 3 West Day Procedure. The Main Operating Suite has 15 theatres with a further 3 in 3 West. The Operating Suites are staffed with skilled nurses (both scrub-Scout and Anaesthetic/Recovery) which is supported with the Post Graduate Perioperative Program. The main hours of operation are from 07:30 hrs to 18:00 hours.

Within The Royal Melbourne Hospital our Surgery, Perioperative, Trauma and Surgical Oncology
Services team operate busy theatres that provide a high quality 24/7 service in our 15 operating rooms.

Your new role:

• Provide high quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for care


• Liaise with the multi-disciplinary health care team to achieve the desired patient outcomes


• Promote patient advocacy, health promotion and teaching

Your Contribution

• Recent experience in an acute hospital setting


• Completion of the postgraduate certificate would be highly regarded


• Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills


• High motivation and willingness to learn


• Ability to mentor and support staff as required
