STATUS:       Fixed Term, Part Time – Parental Leave coverage estimated completion is 21st January 2024

HOURS:        64.0 hours per fortnight

About the role:

As part of our BRHS Perioperative Team, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care of the perioperative patient in a competent, passionate and professional manner. This role will suit a flexible candidate looking to grow their skills in a supportive environment and engage in a fixed term role for the period of a parental leave.  

The department:

The Perioperative Suite at BRHS provides a full range of services for both local and visiting specialists. These include General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Vascular, Paediatrics, Dental and Gastroenterology.

Key requirements:

• Minimum 2 years acute nursing experience. Some experience in Surgical or Perioperative nursing is required.
• Demonstrated competence in acute and/or surgical nursing including understanding and experience in clinical handover, escalation of care and patient education
• A sound understanding of the functions and responsibilities of the perioperative nurse including care of the unconscious patient
• Proven ability to communicate and prioritise effectively in high pressure situations
