​​​​About the Role:


This is a Fixed Term Full Time position to cover Parental Leave for 12 months, at 1.0 FTE per fortnight within the Physiotherapy Department.  This role is expected to commence in approximately late August/early September 2024.  In this role you will be working within the cardiorespiratory stream, providing leave backfill across all areas of the stream.  This includes acute and chronic respiratory, intensive care, cardiac surgery, transplantation, general surgery, developmental care, complex care and aquatic therapy.  Service delivery within other Physiotherapy streams may be required to meet the workforce demands as directed by the manager. 

Classification for this position will range from VB1 – VB4 Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $88,467 to $101,691 FTE per annum, plus superannuation).



What You'll Achieve:


  • Provide clinical care, advice and education in line with clinical guidelines and evidence relevant to the patient's conditions and clinical needs
  • Ensure timely provision of physiotherapy services through appropriate prioritisation of own caseload, that of junior staff as well as patient needs
  • Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to establish common goals and to develop and offer best care to children and families, ensuring that patient care is integrated and effective
  • Identify personal and professional development needs, and plan and implement strategies for achieving them



Your Skills and Experience:


  • Hold a Physiotherapy degree qualification and registration to practice as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
  • Have experience working in an acute tertiary and/or acute paediatric environment
  • Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills and the ability to apply these in practice
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in areas of physiotherapy practice relevant to the clinical stream
