Physiotherapist - High Acuity Areas

  • $42.19 - $48.49 base hourly rate (dependent on experience) + casual loading

About the role


This exciting role will be based at one or more of our acute hospitals (Box Hill, Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals) where this Grade 2 Casual Physiotherapist will be responsible for the provision of clinical services to high acuity patients as part of our weekend service (weekday shifts may also be available dependent on clinician availability)


You will be expected to apply your commitment to the Eastern Health value of Patients First through your skilled Grade 2 management of high acuity cardiorespiratory patients across a variety of environments including ICU, HDU, respiratory, surgical and general medical wards.


You will be a dynamic, enthusiastic team player within the weekend allied health team and Eastern Health Physiotherapy, actively seeking to collaborate with others to improve outcomes & experiences for your patients.


This role will be supported via Grade 3 Physiotherapists and more broadly by the support & improvement network lead by our Grade 4 Clinical Lead Physiotherapists in Cardiorespiratory and Aged & Complex Care.


Clinical supervision is provided to this role by a Grade 3 Physiotherapist and the role operates as part of the team providing weekend service across sites.


About you 


To be successful in this role you should possess:


Essential



  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy

  • Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

  • Eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association

  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical theory and practice within high acuity cardiorespiratory physiotherapy management (including but not limited to ICU / HDU, Respiratory and/or surgery)

  • Demonstrated clear understanding of client-centred care

  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral

  • Demonstrated time management capabilities and experience in managing a caseload

  • Commitment to improving own practice.

  • Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct.

  • Basic computer literacy


Desirable



  • Interest and/or experience working in a broad range of clinical areas

  • Possession of a current Victorian drivers license
