Parks Victoria are looking for a Planning Officer that can work with on-ground teams, science staff and partners to help plan for wildlife management and species restoration programs for Wilsons Promontory National Park. Parks Victoria are looking for a Planning Officer that can work with on-ground teams, science staff and partners to help plan for wildlife management and species restoration programs for Wilsons Promontory National Park.
About the role
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including invasive species management, ecological planning and effectiveness monitoring.
The position will plan for wildlife management and species restoration programs for Wilsons Promontory National Park. This will include working with external partners to complete analysis that will inform decision making on species reintroduction projects, and wildlife management in the Prom Sanctuary program.
The primary focus of the position is to develop strategy and plans for wildlife and ecological restoration at Wilsons Promontory National Park as part of the Prom Sanctuary program. The position will lead wildlife planning and strategy, provide scientific and technical internal advice within the program, seek and assess external advice to inform strategy and pursue collaborations with external partners. Key activities include the development of strategy for species and ecological function restoration, collaborate with relevant state-wide species recovery programs and develop management plans for native fauna. The position will work with other staff in the Prom Sanctuary team to achieve the program objectives, contribute to development of core program strategies and provide strategic support to on-ground delivery staff.
