We have great opportunity to join our Records Management leadership team, as Policy & Projects Manager, based at our Ringwood office.

As the Policy & Projects Manager you will play a pivotal role with ensuring currency of general corporate policies, along with updating records management specific policies and undertaking a range of projects in the records and information space.
Make your mark by taking a leading role in developing, maintaining and updating our records management framework, policies and processes in a collaborative, forward thinking and progressive environment as we transition to using new records management tools and technologies.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

  • Ensure Departmental policies are developed, regularly reviewed by policy owners and maintained.
  • Lead the ongoing review of records management practices and policies within the department.
  • Audit and report on compliance with relevant records management related legislative obligations.
  • Ensure appropriate governance and control mechanisms are embedded into processes.
  • Lead the delivery of policy framework and records management improvement projects.
  • Practice cultural safety by creating environments, relationships and systems free from racism and discrimination so that people can feel safe, valued and able to participate.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will be capable of guiding others to create a culture of collaboration and be able to overcome barriers to knowledge or information sharing.

You will also be a person who can adapt systems and processes quickly to changed priorities and situations.

  • Electronic Records Management (Leading)
    Capable of partnering with senior stakeholders to develop and implement the organisation's information management strategy and direct organisational compliance with regulations, standards and codes.
  • Policy Design and Development (Leading)
    Ability to keep up to date with a broad range of contemporary issues and develop complex and far-reaching business case proposals.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving (Accomplished)
    Experienced in taking into account wider business context within business unit when considering options to resolve issues and deliver tangible business outcomes.
    Stakeholder Management (Accomplished)
    Ability to identify issues in common for one or more clients or stakeholders and use them to build mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Strategic Planning (Leading)
    Able to guides others through the strategic planning process, creating a shared vision for the future and can provide subject matter expertise and building capability of others.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement (Accomplished)
    Capable of understanding clients or stakeholders’ context to design and implement systems for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

  • Demonstrated experience in information and records management in a large government or corporate organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, standards and regulations affecting the management of records and information and systems in the Victorian context.
  • Demonstrated policy development experience.

Desirable  

  • Demonstrated experience with information systems for managing records and knowledge.
