An exciting opportunity is available for a Policy Officer to join the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC).

 The Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) is an independent statutory body constituted under the Multicultural Victoria Act 2011, which sets out the Commission's objectives and functions.

 As a conduit between communities and the government, the VMC's role involves identifying and investigating issues faced by culturally diverse communities, advising the Minister for Multicultural Affairs and making recommendations to government on policies, services and legislation. Working in collaboration with communities, the Commission leads strategic partnerships across all sectors to champion diversity, improve support and access to government services.

 The VMC is seeking a Policy Officer to provide strategic analysis and policy advice to the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Commissioners and the VMC leadership team. You will be involved in reviewing and supporting the development of policy proposals and assessing the impact of government decisions and actions.

 To be successful in this role, you will have good planning and organisation skills, effective stakeholder relationship skills and excellent attention to detail.

 A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.

 The closing date for this position is midnight Sunday 6 December 2020.

This is a new 12-month fixed term position.
