The Policy Officer will work within a team to develop and implement a time-sensitive review that will contribute to the future design and continuous improvement of the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program (the Review). The VEU program is the largest existing emission reduction policies in Victoria, plays a strong role in delivering governmental decarbonisation objectives and is a key lever for the delivery of Victoria's energy transition.
The role involves investigating policy and regulatory frameworks, assisting in technical analysis, and developing policy options to inform the Review's outcomes. Additionally, the role supports the coordination of stakeholder engagement activities and the preparation of responses to stakeholder correspondence.
The successful applicant will possess strong research and analytical skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The Review will focus on ensuring the program is fit for the future and enables the electrification of Victorian homes and businesses at scale. This position is located within the Strategic Review (VEU) Branch of Solar Victoria, Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA).
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
There is one fixed term position available until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is flexible between Melbourne CBD and Morwell with hybrid work arrangements available.
