The Policy Officer in the Fire Policy and Legislation team in DEECA's Bushfire and Forest Services Group is part of a small team responsible for providing strategic, legislative and regulatory policy advice to support the integrated and effective management of bushfires on public land. As a Policy Officer, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify emerging risks and opportunities, craft recommended policy options and strategic advice, and undertake project management activities that help strengthen community and environmental outcomes. You will be comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and actively contribute to a collaborative and positive workplace culture.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in public policy, law, emergency management, environmental management or similar is desirable.   

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
