About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will provide high-level policy advice and project coordination to the Intelligence Innovation and Risk Division, within a complex and sensitive environment.  Your responsibilities will be to provide advice to work units across the organisation on Victoria Police policies and instruments, managed by Professional Standards Command (PSC) to support the highest policing conduct standards.

Your duties will include:

  • Working with stakeholders to develop policy and project solutions on a range of complex operational and administrative issues
  • Drafting policy and procedure documents and maintain policy and reporting framework and tools.
  • Providing advice on policy issues to senior management and frontline employees verbally and through written briefings/options papers.
  • Support priority policy, strategy and delivery projects relating to the professional and integrity standards of the Victoria Police workforce. 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed stakeholder consultation and management skills
  • Experience developing policy documents on complex issues
  • Experience in producing analytical reports and advice
  • Demonstrated capacity to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Knowledge and experience of policing or the justice sector is desirable
  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
