Globally, we are facing one of the most pivotal times in the pursuit of cancer cures, and Peter Mac stands at its forefront. Together, we aim to lead a new era of cancer prevention, care and discovery, supported by state-of-the-art facilities at our new home within the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre building.

Your role in our future.

An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the Molecular Oncology (McArthur) laboratory. The Molecular Oncology laboratory is interested in understanding the impact of targeting oncogenic signalling in cancer on both the tumour cell and its microenvironment, with the aim to develop novel treatment strategies that are durable and prevent therapy resistance, specifically in melanoma.

The position requires a research scientist highly skilled in cancer immunology, molecular biology and cancer cell biology. The person appointed to this position will assist in investigating the immunological impact of targeting oncogenes in  cancer, specifically in the treatment of melanoma. The successful candidate should hold a PhD (or have recently submitted their thesis) in immunology and molecular biology and have extensive experience with mouse tumour models. A strong background in cancer research is also essential. The person will be expected to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and technical staff.
