POSITION SUMMARY
An exciting opportunity exists for a Prinicpal Land & Property Adviser on a Fixed term basis in Portfolio Development, Future Projects & Planning sub-unit
The unit undertakes forward planning for social and affordable housing growth to create a well-planned and targeted growth pipeline which best leverages State and other investment. The wider unit is also responsible for defining the scope, preliminary form and initial costs of social housing projects, for precinct and estate master planning and for coordinating and overseeing statutory planning for social housing growth.
The Projects, Precincts and Land Use sub-unit/ team has focus on identifying a forward pipeline of social and affordable housing projects on government land, assessing development feasibility and facilitating land assembly for acquisition of surplus government land. The sub-unit has a high level of engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
The Principal Land and Property Adviser presents a rewarding opportunity to help deliver the Victorian Government's social and affordable housing agenda, principally the $5.3 billion Big Housing Build, Australia's largest-ever investment in social and affordable housing. The role will lead a team responsible for the advancement of social and affordable housing projects, on surplus or underutilised government land.
As an experienced people leader and property professional, you will lead and develop a small team of property advisers and project managers in the identification and assessment of potential development sites, particularly identifying land assembly requirements, assessing commercial feasibility, defining the scope of development housing opportunity, managing risks and applying the requirements of the Victorian Government Land Transaction Policy to support land purchase decisions. You will also lead strategic and operational stakeholder engagement with landholding agencies.
