The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.

The Opportunity:   

The primary purpose of the Principal Project Manager role is in the delivery management of the Austin Emergency Department Stabilisation Project (AEDSP). The role will be responsible for leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team, focussed on high performance, accountability, and project excellence. The role would confidently represent the Department with contractors and negotiate with them as well as resolve complex issues through a process of consultation and negotiation with key stakeholders and stakeholders issues and influence their views.

• The role will be responsible for leading a team in project administration, supporting delivery of project planning, managing client relationships, management of design and construction consultants, construction contractors, project budget and delivery, project cash flow and forecasting, performance reporting
• Actively identify emerging pressures and possible issues and initiate risk management strategies to address them

We are looking for:

• Significant project management capability and experience delivering a range of capital projects
• Experience with authoritative expert advice and technical report will be required
• Experience preparing complex briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and grammatically correct language
• An appropriate tertiary qualification in construction, architecture, building, engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience
