Job location
Forensicare provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria's 14 prisons, with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region. This position, based at Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's west, provides 75 prison-based custodial mental health beds as well as assessments and outpatient services in a maximum-security forensic mental health complex within the medium-security prison.
About the Role:
The Moroka Program is a 10-bed unit that provides specialist mental health care, treatment and programs to prisoners with repetitive and entrenched complex and challenging behaviours associated with mental illness, predominately personality disorder. The program operates within a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy model. The Moroka Program Manager has responsibility and accountability for providing high-level management and direction for the overall operation of the program, including overseeing the delivery of the program, providing leadership and line management to staff in the program, and engaging with stakeholders regarding the operation of the program.
